Important Note on COVID-19
Leadership Oakland will continue its upcoming cohort for the Class of 2022 either in-person with appropriate social distancing or via a hybrid option utilizing Zoom, in accordance with Alameda County Public Health guidelines. Leadership Oakland - now its 32nd year - is inherently about resilience and leadership in challenging times. We look forward to continuing to strengthen those values in our upcoming cohort. By submitting this application, you are accepting that portions or potentially the entirety of Leadership Oakland 2022 may be conducted online and that sessions may have to be adjusted in content and theme.
Registration Dates and Cost
Early-bird or Non-Profit Tuition
June 7 - July 31 = $50 application fee + $1,350 registration = $1,400
Regular Tuition
August 1 - September 1 = $50 application fee + $1,550 registration = $1,600
Late Tuition
September 2 - September 10 (final date) = $50 application fee + $1,750 registration = $1,800
A $50 nonrefundable application fee + $100 tuition deposit is due with your application
Applicants will be notified of their admission status on September 15, 2021 after all applications have been reviewed. Applicants have until 5pm September 17, 2021 to confirm their place in the program or it may be given to a waitlisted applicant and tuition deposit will be forfeited. The complete tuition minus the $100 tuition deposit must be paid in full by Thursday, September 30, 2021. If the complete tuition is not received by the day of orientation on September 30, 2021 the applicant will not be able to participate in orientation. If you are not selected for admission, your $100 tuition deposit will be returned. Once a participant has attended two sessions (including the orientation), the tuition is nontransferable and nonrefundable.

NOMINATOR INFORMATION
The program accepts nominations by businesses or community organizations in which the applicant holds a leadership role, or if self-employed, by self-sponsorship. Sponsorship does not necessarily imply financial responsibility by the organization on behalf of the participant, but does influence selection by the category in which the applicant is placed. The nominating organization MUST be a member of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce which is in good standing. If an applicant's organization is a member of the Chamber, they may self-nominate.

TUITION & REFUND POLICY
The tuition for Leadership Oakland is payable by the participant or employer. A $50 nonrefundable application fee plus a $100 tuition deposit is due with your application. Applicants will be notified of their admission status on September 15, 2021 after all applications have been reviewed. Acceptable forms of payment: cash, check or credit card (Please note: if paying by credit card an additional $25 processing fee applies to full tuition pay by credit card, but not to a deposit or application fees). ATTENDANCE POLICY
In order for Leadership Oakland to accomplish its stated goals, the full participation of each individual is mandatory. The regular program sessions meet all day on the second Friday of each month unless otherwise notified. Graduation will take place upon completion of the program. In addition, you will be required to attend the Chamber’s Annual Luncheon (cost for this event is included in your tuition). If you are unable to make the time commitment, it is not in your best interest to apply at this time. The following will result in termination from the program with no tuition refund - no exceptions: (1) Failure to attend the leadership training/retreat; (2) More than one absence during the program; and/or partial attendance (late arrival/early departure) at any session in excess of two occurrences.

Checks made payable to the Oakland Chamber of Commerce should be mailed to: Oakland Chamber of Commerce at 1333 Broadway P.100 Oakland, CA 94612. Your application will not be deemed complete until your $50 application fee and $100 tuition deposit is received.
